All my life I have been traveling. From a very young age my parents have instilled the excitement of exploring new places, cultures, food, people and experiences. Every spring break, summer break and sometimes winter break we would pack ourselves into the mini van for a road trip or hop on a plane to fly to our next destination. Flash forward 20+ years later, I’m still hopping on planes and piling into cars to explore my next destination.

Travel Isn't Just a Want, It's a Need!

Throughout my life thus far I have come to the conclusion that traveling isn't just a want but a need. I need to get out and explore other areas for a mental break, a reset and for inspiration. Traveling to new places or even exploring places you already know can really change your perspective, make you think a little differently and may even change your life.

I have traveled down to Orlando, FL more times that I can count throughout my life. I found a deep love for the Walt Disney World parks, the sunshine and the warm weather. Without those travels I wouldn't have thought moving to Florida was remotely on my list. Even though I moved right before the Covid pandemic, I learned to love and explore my new home and found some of my must do local favs when I return to visit. Plus if I wouldn't have moved to Orlando, I would have never met my forever person. See? Travel can certainly be life changing.

Traveling Isn't Just For Those With Six Figures

Now at this point some may disagree with me. Travel isn't cheap but you can certainly find ways to make it more possible and affordable! When I plan my travels I try my best to look for a good deal, whether that is flight price, roadtripping, signing up for rewards to get a cheaper rate on hotels, getting an air bnb to cook some of my own meals, there are so many ways to make travel possible.

Something that I often tell friends and family when they are looking to travel is to make a list of where they want to go and their must dos while there. Once you have your non-negotiables you can then start looking at the other elements that you can possibly save money on. For example, let's say you want to go to NYC in the fall, see a show, grab food at a bucket list restaurant and shop along 5th ave. There is your list of musts, now you can look at when. Is there a weekend where hotel says are less costly than others? Can you find a cheap flight to go during the week? Do you have a specific day that you want to see the show or can you plan that more last minute and get cheap rush seats the same day? Can you set a budget for yourself for meals and spending each day? There are lots of ways to make travel more affordable and still a wonderful time!

Your Next Adventure is Just Around the Corner!

All that to say, your are another day closer to your next adventure. Have a plan for travel? Start looking into it! Worried about using a lot of PTO? Look into doing a long weekend that flows into a holiday that you already have off. Weekend trips can be the best way to reset before another work week. All you have to do is take the first step of looking into traveling. I know it can be a lot but break it down into what you will need for the trip and tackle one thing a day at a time. You got this!

Needless to say, I am very passionate about traveling and showing people how accessible it truly is! You don’t have to be super wealthy to travel, you can certainly travel on a budget and get to experience the best the world has to offer. Stick around and I’ll share my favorite tips, tricks and guides to traveling and experiencing some of the most wonderful things. Don’t worry, I got you!
